Comfort Care

Comfort Care is an integrative form of veterinary care addressing the needs of aged, injured or painful pets. The focus is on providing care through a combination of Western and Eastern medicine. The goals are to support recovery of injured tissues, to treat holistic discomfort through a multimodal approach to care, to improve your pet's function and return to their desired lifestyle, and to help pet's live longer, healthier, happier lives.

An initial Comfort Care exam includes a review of past medical records, a thorough history, a routine physical exam with an extensive musculoskeletal and neurologic exam. It also includes a Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine exam and a joint motion palpation with adjustment. An initial exam takes about an hour to perform.

Before the exam, and depending on your pet’s presenting problem, a digital thermal image capture may be helpful in guiding care.

After an exam, additional treatment modalities may be recommended depending on the extent of your pet’s condition. Most conditions will need additional care to help expedite and guide recovery.

Follow-up Care packages are offered with discounts in situations where your pet will benefit from longer term treatment.

Who is Comfort Care for?

Comfort Care can help any pet with mobility issues caused by an injury, a chronic degenerative condition, or from conformational challenges. Additionally, it can often be offered as an alternative to surgery or as part of the post-operative care for several forms of musculoskeletal disease.

Comfort Care may also be a good choice for caregivers interested in keeping their pet in the best shape possible, both physically and holistically, to help prevent injury and degenerative changes as they age. It is particularly helpful for athletic dogs that are involved in agility and competition.
